This Privacy Policy explains how Screen Tester (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit https://screentester.app (the “Site”) and use our screen tester.

1. Summary

  • The tool runs entirely in your browser. The test patterns are drawn on your device. Nothing is recorded or uploaded, and no camera is used.
  • We save your test settings (auto-advance, gradient steps, tips, ghosting speed and fixer options) in your browser’s local storage (key: scr-prefs). You can delete them at any time by clearing site data.
  • We use cookies only for basic functions and, with your consent where required, for analytics and advertising. See our Cookie Policy.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply.

Technical data. Our hosting provider and analytics tools may collect technical data such as IP address (often anonymized), browser, device type, referring page and pages visited, to keep the Site secure and understand usage.

3. How we use information

  • To operate, secure and improve the Site
  • To answer messages
  • To measure traffic and fix errors
  • To show advertising, if enabled, in line with your consent choices

4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

Consent (non-essential cookies, analytics, advertising), legitimate interests (security, basic statistics) and legal obligation where applicable.

5. Third-party services

We may use hosting/CDN providers, analytics (for example Google Analytics) and advertising (for example Google AdSense), each with its own privacy policy.

Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you. Analytics data is kept for 14 months or less.

Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and similar laws) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. The Site is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some countries), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
